In total, 679 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 28 February, hospital treatment is being provided to 679 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 327 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 199 patients or 60.9% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and 128 patients or 39.1% who have been fully vaccinated.
The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 1.9 people a day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 6.2.
Fifty-seven new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in 27 of those cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average within the past ten days, 39 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised. Eleven deaths have been added of individuals who were infected by COVID-19, involving a 62 year-old man, a 68 year-old man, a 73 year-old woman, a 77 year-old man, two 79 year-old women, an 82 year-old woman, an 85 year-old woman, a 91 year-old man, a 92 year-old man, and also a 99 year-old woman. Eight of those individuals had not been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 4,277 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 2,281 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 280.6, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 405.7.
A total of 326 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 33 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 429,876 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63% have received two vaccine doses.

In week fifteen, a total of 3,184 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections, of whom 38.4% were children. The overall incidence of acute respiratory viral diseases increased by 39%.
A total of 151 new influenza cases and 1,466 COVID-19 cases have been added this week
In week fourteen, a grand total of 2,297 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections. Overall, 36.4% of all of the new cases involved children. The number of new cases decreased by a third.
