In total, 637 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 7 March, hospital treatment is being provided to 637 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 281 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including 180 patients or 64.1% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and 101 patients or 35.9% who have been fully vaccinated.
The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 1.9 people a day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 6.0.
Sixty-five new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in 16 of those cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average within the past ten days, 33 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised. Six deaths have been added of individuals who were infected by COVID-19, involving a 59 year-old woman, an 80 year-old woman, an 81 year-old man, an 84 year-old man, an 85 year-old man, and also a 96 year-old woman. Three of those individuals had not been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 3,268 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 1,394 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country's vaccinated population is 214.9, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 266.2.
A total of 253 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 51 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 434,175 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63.2% have received two vaccine doses.

In week fifteen, a total of 3,184 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections, of whom 38.4% were children. The overall incidence of acute respiratory viral diseases increased by 39%.
A total of 151 new influenza cases and 1,466 COVID-19 cases have been added this week
In week fourteen, a grand total of 2,297 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections. Overall, 36.4% of all of the new cases involved children. The number of new cases decreased by a third.
