In total, 324 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 21 January, hospital treatment is being provided to 324 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 221 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed serious symptoms, including 171 patients who have not been vaccinated (which covers 77.4% of the overall figure), and fifty patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 23.6% of the overall figure).

Forty-two new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Five new deaths have been added within the same period, including a 70 year-old woman, an 84  year-old man, an 86 year-old woman, a 95 year-old man, and a 99 year-old woman. None of those individuals had been vaccinated.

The last 24 hours have also seen 13,086 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 4,480 were positive. The average infection rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the countrys vaccinated population is 172.8, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 277.3.

A total of 4,456 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 433 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 357,698 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 62.1% are fully vaccinated.

Monday morning’s COVID-19 report is able to state that a total of ninety-seven individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19. Hospitals opened eighty new COVID-19 cases last week. The percentage of positive test results out of all tests increased by almost 15%.
