In total, 231 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19
As of the morning of 30 December, hospital treatment is being provided to 231 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of 163 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed serious symptoms, including 136 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 83.4% of the overall figure), and twenty-seven patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 16.6% of the overall figure).
Thirty-seven new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Six new deaths have been added within the same period, including two 73 year-old women, an 80 year-old woman, an 82 year-old woman, a 91 year-old man, and a 92 year-old man. None of those individuals had been vaccinated.
The last 24 hours have also seen 9,503 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 1,379 were positive. In total, 656 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 723 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.
A total of 6,228 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with 725 individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 287,144 individuals had received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 61.4% are fully vaccinated.
In total, 2,497 individuals who have tested positive for coronavirus and who are suspected to have been infected with the Omicron variant have been identified in Estonia based on genotyping procedures.

In week fifteen, a total of 3,184 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections, of whom 38.4% were children. The overall incidence of acute respiratory viral diseases increased by 39%.
A total of 151 new influenza cases and 1,466 COVID-19 cases have been added this week
In week fourteen, a grand total of 2,297 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections. Overall, 36.4% of all of the new cases involved children. The number of new cases decreased by a third.
