In total, 157 individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 27 April, hospital treatment is being provided to 157 individuals who have been infected with COVID-19. A total of sixty-five patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment after having developed severe symptoms, including thirty-six patients or 55.4% of the overall figure who have not been vaccinated, and twenty-nine patients or 44.6% who have been fully vaccinated.

The average hospitalisation rate for the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is 0.4 people a day, while for the unvaccinated population the figure is 1.3.

Fifteen new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours; in five of those cases, the patients required hospitalisation due to symptomatic COVID-19. On average within the past seven days, 7.3 new patients each day who exhibit signs of symptomatic COVID-19 infection have been hospitalised. No new deaths have been added within the past 24 hours.

The last 24 hours have also seen 2,706 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 370 were positive. The average infection rate in the last seven days for every 100,000 members of the country’s vaccinated population is twenty, and for the unvaccinated population the figure is twenty-eight.

A total of 443 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, with forty-three individuals receiving their first injections. As of this morning, 452,419 individuals have received their additional or booster doses. Of the total population in Estonia, 63.5% have received two vaccine doses.

Ten new influenza cases and 2,224 COVID-19 cases were added this week

In week 46, a grand total of 3,875 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections. Overall, 43% of all of the new cases involved children. Ten new influenza A cases were confirmed through laboratory tests, including nine influenza A cases and one influenza B case. A total of 2,224 new COVID-19 cases were added, of which 491 were confirmed through laboratory testing.

In week 45, a grand total of 3,305 people fell ill with acute respiratory infections. Overall, 38% of all of the new cases involved children. Nine new influenza A cases were confirmed through laboratory tests, including eight influenza A cases and one influenza B case. A total of 2,191 new COVID-19 cases were added, of which 490 were confirmed through laboratory testing.
