In total, 144 individuals are being treated in hospitals due to symptomatic COVID-19

As of the morning of 16 September there are 144 individuals with symptomatic COVID-19 who require hospital treatment. A total of 162 patients who have COVID-19 are currently receiving hospital treatment, including 114 patients who have not been vaccinated (which means 70.4% of the overall figure), and forty-eight patients who have been fully vaccinated (which amounts to 29.6% of the overall figure).

Twenty-one new COVID-19 cases have been opened by hospitals within the past 24 hours. Four new deaths have been registered within the past 24 hours, involving a 74 year-old woman, an 86 year-old woman, a 93 year-old woman, and a 98 year-old woman. 

The last 24 hours have also seen 7,142 tests being analysed in Estonia in relation to coronavirus, of which the results of 510 were positive. In total, 381 of the new cases were unvaccinated, while 129 infected individuals had completed the vaccination process.

A total of 3,886 vaccine doses have been administered over the past 24 hours, and 1,322,401 vaccine doses have been administered overall. Of the total adult population in Estonia, 65.8% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
