COVID-19 blog, June 30: two positive test results were added in 24 hours

During the last day, the primary test of SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes 769 COVID-19 diseases, was analyzed in Estonia, two 2 positive test results were added.

According to the data of the population register, one positive test result was received in Ida-Viru County (Narva city) and one in Harju County (Tallinn). Both positive subjects were tested due to admission to a scheduled treatment. The circumstances of the infection are being determined.

As of the morning of June 30, four people in Estonia need hospital treatment due to the coronavirus, and one patient is under controlled breathing. No new deaths occurred during the day. In total, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 69 people in Estonia.

To date, in hospitals, COVID-19 has been terminated in 389 cases with 376 people.

As of today, 1,829 people have recovered. Of these, 1,393 cases have been terminated (76.2%), 436 subjects (23.8%) have had a positive test more than 28 days ago and are currently not in the hospital, i.e., are awaiting confirmation of recovery.

A total of more than 106 thousand primary tests have been performed in Estonia, of which 1,989 or 1.9 percent have been positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. More detailed statistics on corona tests can be viewed at www.koroonakaart.ee/en.

The Health Board reminds us that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 causing COVID-19, we should keep washing our hands carefully, stay home when we are sick and leave enough breathing space for our fellow citizens. The coronavirus spreads from an infectious person to a healthy person primarily through close contact. Close contact is considered to be a situation where people are closer than 2 meters to each other for 15 minutes.

COVID-19 is a droplet infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus that spreads from human to human via sneezing, coughing, and via contaminated surfaces and unwashed hands.

NB! From 01.07.2020, the Health Board will start transmitting overviews of corona statistics once a week on Wednesdays together with a longer assessment of the epidemiological situation. The first overview will take place tomorrow, 01.07.2020.

Monday morning’s COVID-19 report is able to state that a total of ninety-seven individuals are being treated in hospital due to symptomatic COVID-19. Hospitals opened eighty new COVID-19 cases last week. The percentage of positive test results out of all tests increased by almost 15%.
